visual & textual documentation

In September 2021, I was invited by Pascale Brouillard and Michael Baltus to lead a typography workshop for the students in visual and Graphic design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels.

With a series of exercises of observation and experimentation, we tried to find grid systems from photographies taken in the streets of Brussels.
After finding the appropriate grid each student started to find letters within the same grid or by overlapping two grids.
Finally, in order to have a deeper understanding of the creation process of a font, we limited the number of the typeface by making a group vote.
